The state lodged a lawsuit against me for a hot search with the Minor ER doctor’s office written 5/2019. The ER has filed a check with the DA on 3/2020. I never got a message that the DA had sent out, or that I would have treated it immediately because I was not aware that charges had been filed. I did not know until I got a notice from the court dated 10/26/20 and that an arrest warrant had been issued. The only thing that’s on my record right now is a check that I took care of from 1/2000. Other than that, in my life, I’ve never been in trouble with the law. I’m a single mom and I’m now trying to find another job because Covid has caused big financial problems. I need to get this off my record, but I’ve been told by the DAs office that there’s nothing I can do, and that I just have to pay the fees and the fine, I will have to go to court, and it’s still going to be on my record. The DA told me to turn in and make a PR bond, and then go to court. Is there anything I can do to keep this out of my record or take it off until I pay the fees and go to court? Even, is it easier to go ahead and pay the fine and turn myself before the court? Do I need a lawyer to hire?
The state has lodged a hot check claim against me, is there a way for me to pay the fees, and not to go to my record?
