I was picked up a mile from my car because it was wrecked because I was trying to get help. I let them know that I was not my friend’s driver, and she went in the other direction to get help. After going to the hospital for blood tests, I was taken to a correctional facility on a 12-hour hold and told I was going to be charged with a DUI and get it in the mail. I was not the driver, the keys were not in the car, and when the police arrived, I was a mile away from my vehicle.
Since I was picked up a mile away from my car and I told them I wasn’t driving, will I be charged with a dui?
