Is my landlord permitted to access my unit without permission?

My landlord and maintenance man are entering my unit without my permission. I woke up several times when they came in or left when they knew that I was sleeping. The purpose of entering is not an emergency. They decided to take back the window unit they had put in my apartment a month or two before because my air condition kept going and I had to go without air for the hottest days of the summer.
