I signed with my employer an Employment Agreement that states that 1. Unless my employer’s written approval 2. I do not join the client. I do not apply for a client’s position.
Now, my boss is laying me off, but the customer is interested in hiring me. I’m not soliciting, but I was approached by the client to demonstrate their interest. If they’re laying me off, is my signed agreement valid? Could my employer take legal action against me even though the deal is legitimate when they lay me off and it is the customer who is showing interest in hiring me?
